The review
A fruit with its own filing system.
The mesh holds what the teeth and knife declined: translucent mango fibers, fine as packing thread, crosshatched by chili salt. Above them lies the source specimen, a slim slice missing a soft bite. Catch and Remainder are unusually easy to connect, making this one of the archive's most legible Conjunctions.
The spice does useful chronological work. Red grains appear both in the mesh and on the slice, but not in the clean arc between them. The mango was seasoned, eaten, rinsed from a knife, and then abandoned in that order. An entire afternoon can fit inside a gap of pale stone.
What it says about the owner
Mara recorded the image in the guest kitchen of a route-planning conference she had intended to leave early. At 4:16, Tom sent a photograph of their father's map laid flat on his table. At 4:17, she set down the mango. At 4:23, she replied with a corrected street name and missed her train home.
The slice is not evidence of waste so much as attention changing tracks. She ate it later, after the next departure board turned blue.

Chili concentration is greater in the mesh than on the remainder, probably because dry seasoning rinsed from the knife. Heat level cannot be responsibly inferred.
