The review
The cabinet ends in motion.
Basil pieces, broken pine nuts, and Parmesan occupy the basket in a loose green mass. One farfalle has cleared the rim and rests farther up the basin, its pesto mark pointing back toward the catch. The effect is celestial without sacrificing the practical fact of dinner.
It is a fine Conjunction for a final numbered drawer: complete enough to identify at a glance, open enough to imply a path beyond the frame. The pasta bow is neither abandoned meal nor decorative accident. It is simply the piece the rinse carried last.
What it says about the owner
Mara makes pesto without consulting a recipe now. Tom buys too much basil; Aisha grates the cheese; someone opens the window before the room can grow warm. The evidence does not mark a climax. It records a Sunday dinner ordinary enough that nobody thinks to name it.
This cabinet closes because an atlas must eventually meet its present. Mara's kitchen does not. There will be another plate, another rinse, and more small things worth noticing after the tap is turned.
Field note 031-AE
Numbering ends at the publication boundary, not at the end of observation. Uncatalogued notes remain in the working drawer.
