The review
Breakfast for one and a half.
The strainer is crowded with brown and white eggshell, chopped chive, toast crumbs, and a crisp potato shred. Outside it, a hash brown has been bitten from one side and a toast crust curves along the opposite wall. The evidence is generous, legible, and compositionally calm.
The phrase “one and a half” describes both portion and mood. Somebody cooked for two without knowing how hungry the second person would be.
What it says about the owner
Tom stays through breakfast. Mara serves tea in the blue cup she has carried through six apartments and used in none of them. Its foam ring appears in an auxiliary photograph; the cup itself is already drying when the main observation is recorded.
Reconciliation rarely announces itself. Sometimes it is merely the decision to risk a sentimental cup in ordinary dishwater.

Shell color indicates at least two eggs. Quantity alone cannot prove two diners; the second bite pattern and cup record provide stronger support.
